DMAC Owner Hussain Sajwani Started from Humble Beginnings

Hussain Sajwani was born in 1956 in Dubai. He graduated from the University of Washington on a government scholarship, and earned a Bachelors degree in Industrial Engineering, and Economics. After college he started working at Gasco, a natural gas company.

During his time at Gasco, he developed an interest in catering and started a small catering company. Through hard work, he brought his catering company to international status. Hussain Sajwani’s catering business was soon contracted to provide meals to U.S. military in Bosnia, Afghanistan, Qatar, Africa, and Kuwait. He also contracted with small hotels all over the Middle East and started serving over 150,000 meals daily.

Hussain Sajwani used the money from his catering business to invest in real estate, and buy land in undeveloped areas. This venture led him to start DMAC Properties in 2002, a property development and sale company. He began building towers and selling them, which turned poor neighborhoods into attractive business property. DMAC owner, Hussain Sajwani has since changed the skyline of Dubai with his luxury towers.

The DMAC owner also donates to several charities. He sponsored the One Million Arab Coders Initiative, a program to equip youth with hands-on software skills. He has donated money to a charity that provides healthcare and education to war victims in Yemen.

DMAC currently employs over 2,000 employees, and is a publicly listed company on the Dubai Financial Market. The company has delivered over 24,000 homes and has a portfolio of over 40,000 units either in the works or for sale.

The DMAC owner has also gotten into the fashion industry, and has partnered with leading brands. Hussain Sajwani has teamed with Italian fashion designers to design the interiors of expensive homes, and has teamed with Tiger Woods to build a golf course. In 2011 DMAC started a hospitality division to provide services to guests in upscale hotels and apartment buildings.

When not a work, Hussain Sajwani enjoys spending time with his four children and family. He also enjoys eating at his favorite restaurants in Dubai.
