Dr. Saad Saad

Dr. Saad Saad was born in Palestine and raised in Kuwait. He grew up in a family of seven siblings. He attended high school in Kuwait in 1965. He joined Cairo University where he studied a degree in medicine and performed excellently. He was second in the class and obtained an honors degree. He went for his internship in England and later on moved to the United States. He undertook a residency in pediatric surgery where he became board certified. He was placed in King Specialist Hospital where he performed complicated surgical procedures. Dr. Saad Saad was a highly respected surgeon by every member of the hospital since he had all the skills and practiced his full professionalism. Dr. Saad Saad proved that even the needy could make it and be successful since he was a Palestinian refugee and he managed to make it through perseverance and hard work. He says that all human beings are equal before the eyes of God and goes ahead to recommend that people read any book written by President Abraham Lincoln. He also proves that all human beings are the same in that they have similar organs irrespective of their skin color, religion or race.

He not only performed surgical procedures but also helped in the creation and development or surgical residency program. He enabled the formation of working connection with the Royal College of Surgeons in England to facilitate certification of students from Saudi Arabia in the United Kingdom. Due to his great work, students from Saudi Arabia do not have to fly abroad in order to undergo surgical training instead they can just undertake in their motherland.

Dr. Saad Saad returned to the United States for his kids to attend local schools. He is currently retired and he lives in Red Bank, New Jersey. Just before he came to retire, he served as the co-medical director and surgeon at Hovnanian Children Hospital in Hackensack meridian health care. He performed numerous surgical procedures and thousands of complex pediatric surgeries for children. He has also done eight free medical missions to help needy children in Jerusalem.

His greatest mentor was Dr. H Biemann Othersen who trained him to become a pediatric surgeon. He learned so many things from him that included kindness, honesty, hard work and most importantly to treat all kids the same way irrespective of their religion, skin color, financial status, and physical abilities. He advised the youths in his statement by saying that they can achieve their goals if they remain determined and focused in whatever they do.
