The Chainsmokers debate album Memories… Do Not Open is still smoking hot. The dynamic DJ Duo of Alex Pall and Andrew Taggart also known as The Chainsmokers have ruled the record charts the last few years. The April 2017 release of their debut studio album Memories… Do Not Open flamed the fire of their music to a blaze. The supergroup has also scored a diamond certified hit with “Closer”. Records are rewarded Diamond status when they reach 10 million copies sold. Since the release of the single “Closer” in 2016, the massive hit has won the DJ duo a large handful of music awards. The popularity of the single earned both The Chainsmokers and Halsey a Grammy nomination in 2018. This is another incredible accomplishment in the group’s career.
As of late November 2018 the Memories… Do Not Open album was the fourth longest-running number one on the Billboard Top Dance/Electronic albums charts. The smash album is currently at number two on Billboard’s top dance and charts. Since the album’s initial release it is hit the top of charts 34 different times. As of the last week in November 2018 Memories… Do Not Open was still the number two album on the dance/ electronic music list. Fourth on that same chart is the Collage EP by The Chainsmokers. Even more incredibly, their latest album Sick Boy is the number one album in the world. So right now the DJ group has the number one, number two, and number four albums on the Top Dance/Electronic albums charts. That is a truly impressive musical feat. Just to add glory to glory their biggest single “Closer’ with Halsey, has now been certified diamond in the U.S. for shipments of at least 10 million units. Three of the top 10 albums in the dance and electronic music category plus a diamond certified single are owned by the band proving the Chainsmokers are still smoking hot.
