Dr. Saad Saad, once the Co-Medical Director of the Hovnanian Children’s Hospital says that research leads to results. Born in Palestine, and one of eight children, worked hard to earn honors while earning his medical degree. Working through his residency in surgery and pediatric surgery, Dr. Saad learned that research was the key to practicing medicine. His belief translated into two inventions that he created specifically for pediatric surgery. What kind of experience does this surgeon have?
Having performed numerous complex surgeries on children, Dr. Saad was seeking ways to improve outcomes as well as reduce complications with those procedures. He currently has to patented inventions, and along the way he has also developed new procedures for the benefit of his pediatric patients. Dr. Saad’s dedicationshines through, along with his willingness and desire to see his patients get well. He has completed eight medical missions to Jerusalem, ensuring that poor children were able to receive the benefits of his most complicated surgical procedures for free.
Prior to his retirement, he was not only the Co-Medical Director of the Children’s Hospital at the Hackensack Meridian Health Care System, but he was also the Surgeon-in-Chief. Dr. Saad always knew that he wanted to go into the medical profession, but the decision felt more firm while attending his high school in Kuwait. He had believed that he wanted to go into the field of engineering like his brothers, but that later changed when he realized that working in the heat daily with such hot temperatures was something he felt he was unable to do.
Becoming a doctor was the first decision, but becoming a surgeon was the second major decision he made about his profession. Once the decision had been made, Dr. Saad knew that he would need a professional mentor to help him make more decisions about his career. He chose to work with the greatest pediatric surgeon known in the United States, Dr. H Biemann Othersen. What he learned from his mentor was much more than about treating the patient, it was about treating the person.
It is no surprise that Dr. Saad is now one of the most highly regarded pediatric surgeons in history today. Learn more: https://www.crunchbase.com/person/saad-saad
